He slowly finds out what has happened since he was “sleeping” and is trying to find his companion and his mother. Him and “his family” lived on a mining development. We skip ahead ten years and meet TIM-21 who has been asleep for the past ten years. The first issue opens before the war, when a group of planet-sized robots, called the Harvesters, come and destroy the way of life of the civilization. The graphic novel follows along with Tim and his companions as they struggle to stay alive in a universe with so much war. In a universe where androids have blown to pieces the way of life for many, the robots are outlawed and hunted by bounty hunters. will not be changed at all, thankfully.A young robot boy named TIM-21 is a companion robot of a boy named Andy. So, the release schedules for LITTLE MONSTERS, THE BONE ORCHARD, BLACK HAMMER, etc.

I’ve known production was coming for a while and spent the early part of this year getting even further ahead on my various comics than usual. In terms of the books, I am currently releasing and have announced for later this year, this shift to the Essex TV show won’t affect those projects at all. In between all of that I am also rewriting, improving, revising the scripts, and working on some storyboards and illustrations for the production design team.Īs we get into actual prep on location and then start shooting, I’ll try to use this Substack to share more teases and behind-the-scenes material from the show. So, at this point, as we head into hard prep next month, my days are filled with meetings about locations, production design, casting, etc. It will be a 5-part mini-series coming in early 2023. So, what do my days look like now? I am “showrunning” Essex County and writing or co-writing all of the episodes. I’ve come to realize that a forced break is probably good for me at this point, when I can keep busy doing something else and then come back to comics later this year refreshed. I’ve spent the last twenty years focusing on comics every day, and it’s been hard to let that go and turn my full attention to the TV show, but at the same time, a short break from comics may be exactly what I need. For me, this means a big shift in my daily and weekly work schedule. As I’ve mentioned before, I have been developing the series for five years and in the last six months things finally came together and we are now in full prep to begin shooting this Summer. Since last we spoke the Essex County TV show has kicked into overdrive.

Hey Farmhands, it’s been a while since I did one of these updates and I apologize, things have been downright insane down here on The Farm…
